Applications: Part 1 #onlineassessment

Musgrave, along with many other graduate employers, include online assessments as part of our graduate selection process.

Applications: Part 1 #onlineassessment

Online assessments are a key part of our graduate selection process at Musgrave, as well as for many other employers. These tests are objective and help us assess the skills required for our graduate roles. Given the large number of applications we receive, online assessments help us shortlist candidates for the next stage. We partner with Aon for our recruitment process.

Online assessments measure skills, abilities, attributes, and personality characteristics through tests or questionnaires provided online. Our assessments are optimized for mobile phones for the best experience. Here are the types of tests you’ll encounter:

Deductive Logical Reasoning:  Aon’s Deductive Reasoning assessment measures your ability to apply given rules to logical problems in one or more steps.  In the assessment, you will receive instructions along with a practice task that you can take as many times as you like before you start the actual assessment.

Numerical: Aon’s digitChallenge assessment measures your aptitude for numerical comprehension. It measures your ability to solve basic arithmetic functions such as addition, subtraction and multiplication. In the assessment, you will receive instructions along with some practice tasks that you can take as many times as you like before you start the actual assessment.

Adept-15®: This scientifically based assessment uncovers aspects of your personality to help us identify and recruit the best talent.

To progress to the next stage, you need to meet specific benchmarks in the logical reasoning and numerical assessments. The Adept-15 results are reviewed at the assessment centre stage to explore your motivation in more detail.

  • Ensure you are in a quiet space where you won’t be distracted. Tell your family and friends not to disturb you.
  • Practice online tests on websites to get a sense of what to expect. Aon provides assessment insights on their website  https://assessment.aon.com/en-us/prepare-your-assessment
  • Make use of any practice time you get on the assessment itself and ensure you understand the instructions clearly before starting
  • Do an activity that calms you and makes you happy before starting the assessments to help calm any nerves and clear your focus.
  • Answer the Adept-15 questions based on your own preferences, rather than trying to answer based on what you think you “should” answer. There is no right or wrong answer in this questionnaire, and providing answers that are not reflective of your own preferences may result in you being offered a role that doesn’t suit you.
